Dragon vs Tiger Rules: How the Game Works, Payouts & Odds

Learn how Dragon vs Tiger works: card values, how a round plays out, Dragon, Tiger and Tie bets, typical payouts, house edge and smart limits.

Dragon vs Tiger table in Teen Patti Pro with Dragon, Tie and Tiger betting areas

Dragon vs Tiger is one of the fastest card games you can play — a single round is decided by just two cards. It’s one of the most-played tables inside Teen Patti Pro because there is almost nothing to learn. Here’s exactly how it works, what each bet pays, and what the odds really look like.

How a round works

  1. Before the timer runs out, place your chips on Dragon, Tiger or Tie.
  2. One card is dealt face up to the Dragon side and one to the Tiger side.
  3. The side with the higher card wins. If both cards have the same rank, the result is a Tie.

That’s it — no drawing, no decisions after the deal.

Card values

Cards rank from Ace (lowest) through 2, 3 … 10, J, Q, up to King (highest). Suits don’t matter in the basic game. Note that this is different from Teen Patti, where the Ace is high.

Bets and typical payouts

BetWins whenTypical payout
DragonDragon card is higher1 : 1
TigerTiger card is higher1 : 1
TieBoth cards have the same rank8 : 1 (varies)

On a Tie, Dragon and Tiger bets usually lose half their stake rather than all of it. Payouts can differ between tables, so always check the in-game rules screen before playing.

What are the real odds?

Most tables deal from a multi-deck shoe (often 8 decks). There, the chance of a Tie is roughly 7.5% (about 6% with a single deck), and Dragon and Tiger each win about 46% of the time. That’s why the Tie pays more — but at 8:1 it still carries a much bigger house edge than Dragon or Tiger bets.

Every round is independent. The trend board (the row of D and T results above the table) shows what happened, not what will happen next. There is no pattern or “trick” that predicts the next card.

Reading the trend board

Teen Patti Pro displays the latest results as coloured D/T markers and a trend chart. It’s fun to follow, but past results do not change the odds of the next deal. Treat it as entertainment, not as a strategy.

Do Dragon vs Tiger prediction apps and patterns work?

Searches like “Dragon vs Tiger prediction app”, “prediction pattern”, “AI predictor” or “Dragon Tiger bot” are common. None of them can work. Each card comes from a shuffled shoe, and the result of the next deal does not depend on the trend board. Many paid “predictor” apps and Telegram groups are scams designed to take subscription fees or steal account details.

Tips for playing sensibly

  • Decide your budget before you sit down and stick to it.
  • Rounds are very fast — set a time limit, too.
  • Avoid chasing losses by increasing stakes after a losing streak.
  • Be wary of anyone selling “Dragon Tiger tricks” or prediction apps; they don’t work.
